Lip House - Alterations and additions

Darlinghurst, NSW

A modest terrace explodes with light and spatial wonders

A stunner! Setting a new sale record for a terrace home in Darlinghurst ($5m 2016) The existing terrace was extensively excavated re-designed adding a new basement, central service core and attic roof. The exisiting ground floor plane was ripped back from the façade to allow northern light down into the living spaces. This natural light illuminates the sandstone walled kitchen below. A new rear terrace was planned over a well-being place; sauna, cellar and cars. A new LIP-shaped mezzanine home sits on top of these new works. It’s a super dynamic and versatile home.
